Privacy Policy
Last updated: 06/15/2025
Thank you for visiting the National Association of Hospitality Compliance Trainers (NAHCT). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Who We Are
Our website address is: https://nahct.org.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval, your profile picture may be publicly visible in connection with your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to re-enter your details when posting future comments. These cookies last for one year.
We do not currently offer account login functionality, so no login cookies are used or stored.
If you edit or publish content (e.g., blog posts as an admin), a temporary cookie may be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply records the post ID of the content you edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves as if the visitor had visited the other site directly.
These external websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with their content, especially if you have an account and are logged in on those sites.
Who We Share Your Data With
If you request a password reset (in the future when accounts are available), your IP address would be included in the reset email. Currently, we do not offer user logins or password functionality.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and automatically approve follow-up comments without holding them for moderation.
As we do not currently offer user registration, no user profile data is collected or stored beyond any information submitted via contact forms or comments.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have submitted comments or messages through our website, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You may also request that we delete any personal data we retain. This does not include any data we are obligated to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, you can contact us at contact@nahct.org.
